VOC Duits: From 1726 to 1794, small change ('Challies') were struck in Holland in Copper by the Mints of Holland, Westfrisia, Zeeland, Utrecht and Gelderland. They were not current in Holland, being used mainly in Ceylon, Coromandel, Cochin and Malacca. The Duit was the standard coin but due to increased demand, a half Duit was also struck. Sales: As we do not sell from this website, we recommend that you check out the excellent selection of Ceylon material that is generally available with the US based Asian Collectibles Network, we find their quality and service to be excellent. |
